The regional structure focuses on the details of structural style for each of the major ranges and valleys contained within the area. The first section describes the generalized structural form and fault-fold system morphology for each range or quadrangle area described.

The second section details the valley description and generalized basin structural form for each basin. Surface geology, bouguer gravity, and available seismic data are discussed. Since it is difficult to discuss the ranges and valleys in a geographical order they are presented in alphabetical order. The reader is encouraged to refer to the Western Cordillera Geologic Map of Northeastern Nevada and appropriate USGS topographic maps while reading this text.
