Limited structural or kinematic insight can be gained from the study of single faults, folds, or outcrops in any structurally complex area. To understand the structural system in northeastern Nevada, domains with demonstrable and consistent structural fabrics or deformational style have been defined. The objective was to define coherent regional structural domains that have significance on an exploration scale. This analysis is not aimed at slicing and dicing northeastern Nevada into infinite structural domains, which could certainly be done given the small-scale complexity and variability of the area.
